based on the idea that a corduroy jacket never goes out of style

What better to way to enjoy a beautiful fall Saturday then by throwing a barbeque and impromptu photoshoot? Okay, so it wasn’t exactly thrown together at the last minute, but it felt more like one big party with friends than work. Even though we’re closing our fall issue as we speak, we wanted to squeeze in one more fashion shoot before we sent the magazine to the printers. We’ve been flipping through a lot of old black and white portraits lately and we’ve also been reading up on the role that race is playing in the upcoming presidential elections. That got us thinking: what would the world be like if everyone was of a mixed race? It’s not that far-fetched an idea, as more and more people marry outside their culture. We gathered some of our best friends and some of our favorite models to do a shoot based on that concept.
We wanted to capture each person’s unique look as naturally as possible, so we shot it outdoors on our roof. The weather was perfect and the sun just bright enough. I don’t want to spoil anything but I think you’ll love the end result.
And then, after a long day’s work, it was time to kick back with burgers, smores and a glass (or two) of wine. Some pictures below:
