If you took the best of folk music, stripped it down to its core and sprinkled in a touch of soul and country, you’d have Larune, one of our favorite new bands in the city. Though they have yet to release a full CD, the band is quickly building a following through its “Honky Tonk” shows around Brooklyn and Manhattan. With earnest lyrics off-set by a playful attitude, Larune is creating something totally refreshing and different from what’s out there right now.
