Behind the scenes: Jonathan Groff
Jonathan Groff stars in one of our favorite musicals in recent years — Spring Awakening — and we were lucky enough to have spring-like weather when we shot him yesterday in Morningside Park. We knew we wanted to do something outdoors (our stylist even picked out some great Jil Sander outerwear for the occasion) and fortunately, Mother Nature complied with sunshine and cool conditions.
The thing about Jonathan is that he’s been the star of a hit show, been nominated for a Tony, appeared on almost every major talk show and shot a major advertising campaign….all before he even turned 23! When we asked about what’s next for him, Jonathan replied confidently: “Now I can focus on developing my skills and growing as an artist.” Wise words from a young talent.
I think the whole team was impressed by Jonathan and we’re excited to see what lies ahead for him. In the meantime, here are a couple of candid shots from the photoshoot.
